Beats Studio Buds Gets First Limited Edition Design In Partnership With Union

Beats today announced a new version of Beats Studio Buds in collaboration with Union. These limited edition headphones will be available at Union stores in Los Angeles and Tokyo and online starting tomorrow, December 1.

This new version of the Beats Studio Buds celebrates Union’s 30th anniversary. The Studio Buds feature bold red, black and green design and packaging, taking inspiration from the Pan-African flag and paying homage to Union’s roots as a black-owned business. The case also features the logo of Union’s historic leader as an ode to the brand’s heritage.

Music is the lifeblood of our store, so when Beats approached us we were excited to be working with them on these Buds. The collaboration is almost as important as the music, ”said Union founders Chris and Beth Gibbs. “It’s great to have worked with Beats on this project and to have worked with Vince Staples, a longtime friend of the store, to bring our vision to life.

The Beats Studio Buds were first released in June. Before that, 9to5Mac exclusively reported on Beats’ plan for these headphones ahead of launch.

The Beats Studio Buds are the company’s first true wireless headphones to feature active noise cancellation and transparency. With six microphones, these headphones are able to isolate outside sound or make it look like you’re not wearing headphones at all.

Different from the Powerbeats Pro or other Beats headphones, these do not feature Apple’s H1 or W1 chip. This means that while you can easily pair these headphones with your iPhone and iPad, you need to pair them with each device at once. Features like in-ear detection do not exist in these headphones.

Beats Studio Buds also offers integration with Apple’s Find My app. When paired via Bluetooth, this allows you to locate your lost Beats Studio Buds by using their last known location or by playing a sound.

If you’re interested in these new wireless headphones, Bets will launch them in Union stores in Los Angeles and Tokyo and on unionlosangeles.com and uniontokyo.jp for $ 149.99 on Wednesday, December 1 at 9:00 a.m. PST and JST.
