Since March 2021, Puerto Rican musician Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio, better known by his stage name Bad Bunny, has been producing shoes with Adidas. The 27-year-old reggaeton star and Adidas announced early last year that they would be embarking on “a long-term partnership which will see us working on a number of collaborative projects and product launches over the coming seasons.”
To date, the partnership revolves around a single silhouette, the Adidas Forum Low. Characterized by a crisscrossing loop lace and chunky construction, the sneakers have also been reworked by Adidas partners Beyoncé and Kerwin Frost.
So far, Bad Bunny and the German brand have served up a pair of deliciously palatable beige, off-white and brown “First Café”, coffee-inspired Adidas Forum Buckle Lows, as well as a baby pink “Easter Egg” iteration. ” shoes. Following these releases, in August 2021, Bunny dropped the “Back To School” Forum, which was a chunky all-black design.
Each sneaker release has been a huge success. The kicks sold out instantly upon release, and Bunny not only won over hypebeasts, but he also impressed the likes of avowed sneakerhead Bella Hadid, who proudly owns a pair.
The Grammy winner teased an upcoming pair of sneakers, which had never seen the light of day before. Pictured at the unveiling of his wax figure (yeah, still a thing) at Madame Tussauds in New York, Bunny sported a fisherman bucket hat, tailored tracksuit bottoms and an oversized plaid shirt. At his feet were a pair of Adidas Forum Lows in an eye-pleasing pale blue colourway.
Although the sneakers have yet to receive a release date, you can more than guarantee that the sneakers are part of the ongoing partnership between Adidas and Bunny. Adorned with sky blue suede accents to the upper and featuring the iconic Forum buckle in arctic blue, the three stripe silhouette makes an ideal pair of summer trainers.
Expect them to retail for £130, as with previous Bad Bunny x Adidas styles.
