JToday adidas Rugby unveils a colourway update to their range of lightweight rugby boots including the Predator Malice, Adizero RS7 and Kakari Z.1. All three models, specially designed for different positions on the pitch, feature details representing a striking celebratory tribute to the host country of next year’s flagship event.
The demands of the modern game have never been higher and in a team, all players must play their part to succeed – whether it’s crossing the try line, dominating failure or dictating the game. In what is a highly anticipated 12 months for the sport of rugby, teams around the world are looking to improve their game, and now they have the boots to do it, whatever the position.

Rugby Predator Malice
- The boot’s design has been reimagined with a light pink colourway in homage to the Parisian sunrise, while adidas’ famous three stripes have been incorporated to the medial side of the boot in an ombré navy colourway.
- Designed for kicking accuracy and game control, the improved lightweight upper has been constructed in part from recycled materials with rugby-specific predator elements to aid and control kicks and hand kicks .
- The new Predator Malice has been fitted with a GEOFIT heel, with sensing pods for added comfort, support and protection, and features an improved asymmetrical lace system with a larger sweet spot for kickers.
- A soft ground and hard ground edition of the boot will be available for purchase.
Adizero RS7:
- The graphic found on the boot combines the iconography of New Zealand and France, bringing together the New Zealand fern and the feathers of the Kiwi bird and the French rooster which is found on the French rugby badge.
- Designed to add an extra meter of speed to rugby athletes, the new Adizero RS7 has been made in part with recycled materials.
- A new lightweight synthetic material with a technical and ergonomic texture has been used for this lightweight edition of adidas’ most popular rugby speed boot.
- The Adizero RS7 has been fitted with a GEOFIT heel, with sensing pods for added comfort, support and protection.
- A soft ground and hard ground edition of the boot will be available for purchase.
Kakari Z.1:
- The boot has been redesigned with an ombré navy colourway, while adidas’ infamous three stripes are incorporated to the lateral side of the boot in a white colourway, with a pink boot base in homage to the Parisian sunrise.
- The updated Kakari Z.1’s weight has been minimized where possible, focusing on the functional areas needed by rugby forwards – flexibility and traction during the scrum.
- Kakari Z.1 features a ripstop upper with pink embroidery and stitching, which has been made in part with recycled materials, to further reinforce these functional areas
- The construction of the Kakari Z.1 is built with multiplicity and lightness while providing the necessary support thanks to internal reinforcements, embroidery and TPU sheets for support.
The new range of adidas rugby boots have been worn by many adidas athletes throughout the Autumn 2022 international fixtures, helping some of the world’s best players reach their highest level.
